Baby Hats in the Car

I really like to make hats, always have and now I have discovered that baby sized hats are the perfect travel project. I can complete one hat over a round trip ride to the upstate house ( as long as I am not driving, of course) I have experimented with cottons ( Rowan and others) and the range of Artyarns wools from Ultramerino 4 to Supermerino. And the results, well, check them out here.

It really depends on the yarn I am using. For the cotton hats, I cast on about 56 stitches on a size 6 needle, but don't hold me to it as it really depends on which yarn you will use. More stitches on smaller needles and finer yarns. And always divisable by 8!
