Knitting with strangers
I had the good fortune to spend some time last week with the remarkable Marie Irshad, founder of the original and very first knitting podcast - Knitcast. What could be more fun than to spend several hours with a fellow knitter visiting a few yarn shops. We were very taken with and taken in at The Point. We collapsed into comfy chairs at a table with some delightful knitters who welcomed us and joined us in busy chatter about current projects and the impact knitting has on our lives. It's funny to share the enthusiasm with perfect strangers who after several minutes of conversation become quick friends and fellow craftswomen. Marie and I commented how knitting had allowed us to become instant friends and share wisdom and insight on our craft and our lives.
OTN- the absolutely beautiful baby blanket from the latest Vogue Knitting. I am slowly progressing with this heirloom blanket knitted in Blue Sky Alpaca's "Silk and Alpaca" in light green. With 193 stitches per row, it moves slowly, but I am beginning to get the hang of it and I am starting to enjoy the rhythm of the design and pattern.
