The Salon heads into Summer ...

I am very excited to announce the details for our
Ethelridge Road Knitting Salon
2011 Summer Retreat.

Gorgeous views, and relaxing atmosphere highlight two days of knitting bliss. Relax and learn with fellow knitters amidst splendid scenery and delightful knitting camaraderie. It is a knitter's dream setting for fun and instruction. You'll knit with Artyarns extraordinary hand painted cashmere as you master several techniques for creating the most beautiful summer weight shawls.

Our 2011 retreat will focus on shawls for summer.
The Citron Shawl shown here from Knitty, Winter 2009 will be one of the designs for our Summer Shawls workshop. This shawl will be knit in Artyarns Cashmere 1, a spectacular yarn. Participants will choose from several shawl designs to create their own perfect summer wrap.

These easy to knit summer wraps are both lightweight and airy, offering protection from sun and sand as well as offering a bit of warmth on a cool evening or a great cover up for just a tad too much air conditioning. Dress up or down, shawls are perennial favorites and the perfect accessory. These specially chosen designs are versatile enough to become favorites in every season and with every style of dress. Participants will receive patient and generous instruction with several special techniques

and will be provided with enough luxury yarn for two shawls and even a small lacey scarfette.

Think lazy summer days, bucolic scenery and time to knit to your heart’s content. Geared for advanced beginner and intermediate knitters.

Our second day will feature another day of glorious views and relaxed fiber fun along with a mistakes tutorial. - a perfect companion, or a necessity perhaps, to our workshop.

Our retreat will take place at the Ethelridge Road Knitting Salon North in Stephentown, NY approximately 2 hours north of White Plains in the Taconic Foothills just west of the Berkshire Mountains. They will be plenty of time for knitting, hiking and just relaxing among fellow fiberholics.
