Time to Knit

I realized that while I always make time to knit (never enough, but hey, I am at least always thinking about knitting), I hadn't written anything here in quite some time. Over the past several months, I have set out completion goals and actually made a list of works in progress ( 15- give or take a few) and managed to finish several of those. At the same time, I've managed to start and completed a few more and kept my yarn purchases to a minimum. I've been thinking alot about the importance of knitting in the lives of women- especially now as I spend more and more time at the shop where I encourage others to take up the needles on a daily basis.

So what did I finish during my rush to completion program - a beautiful greenish taupe cardigan for sweet baby Ariel. Knit with Be Sweet bamboo and trimmed in a luscious pink flowery yarn (I will post pics soon), this sweet baby sweater pattern was from La Drougerie's new English baby book. I also made some hand warmers for favorite niece in Cascade ultra alpaca, several hats, a cowl of String's Cashnetta ribbon cashmere and an awesome poncho knit from Montana, a really chunky wool. All the while, I have been knitting more hats, an autumn hued lace shawl, an Artyarns supermerino baby blanket in shades of deep aqua blues and have finally begun my much anticipated Pi Shawl - Elizabeth Zimmerman's super easy big circular shawl- well, not really super easy - super fun better characterizes this divine to knit lace. In between, I've spent some quality time with great knitters and friends. I'll follow up with those stories soon. Photos too.
